The rapid digitalization of the banking sector has transformed work structures, performance evaluation systems, and employment relations. While regulatory frameworks primarily emphasize consumer protection and financial system stability, limited attention has been given to legal protection for bank employees affected by digital transformation. This study examines legal protection for bank workers in the era of banking digitalization by analyzing its alignment with Indonesian labor law, Financial Services Authority (OJK) regulations, Bank Indonesia’s payment system policy, and personal data protection principles. Using normative legal research with statutory, conceptual, and analytical approaches, this article analyzes secondary legal materials and scholarly literature related to algorithmic management, digital surveillance, electronic performance monitoring, and workplace data governance. The analysis identifies three central issues: the transformation of work roles and performance targets, intensified digital surveillance, and unequal access to digital competency development. The study indicates a regulatory gap between labor law provisions and sectoral financial regulations, particularly regarding algorithmic transparency, workplace privacy, employee data protection, and psychosocial protection. It concludes that legal protection must be expanded through adaptive regulatory harmonization, human review of system-based employment decisions, proportional limits on workplace surveillance, and stronger protection of employee personal data.
